Sophie is a psychologist with provisional registration with AHPRA. She completed her Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Honours Psychology) at Queensland University of Technology, graduating with First Class Honours. Sophie has previously worked with children with a range of additional needs, in particular Autism Spectrum Disorder, across both school and early intervention settings.
She has a strong passion for early intervention to prevent the development of future psychopathology (mental health concerns), and provide the best outcomes for children with developmental delays.
In practice, Sophie utilises a client-centred, evidence-based approach to therapy, and enjoys incorporating play, movement and arts and craft during sessions. Sophie utilises the following therapies: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with children, and enjoys exploring Gottman’s Emotion Coaching with parents.
Sophie also enjoys working with teachers, other allied health professionals and medical professionals to provide the most collaborative and holistic support for children.
